The other day I was playing with papers. Suddenly remembered what I used to make as a kid! Googled that thing and got a word "SONOBE".
The Sonobe module is a unit used to build modular origami, created by Mitsonobu Sonobe. Each individual unit is folded from a square sheet of paper, of which only one face is visible in the finished module. Here is a simplest sonobe module which I will be making lots of them over the next few days.
Sonobe units form complicated shapes with interlocking multiple units.
Below is the plans of basic sonobe.

Basic Mobile
Made this mobile for my son. It has 4 high contrast shapes which helps the new born to focus and move his hands to reach out and grab on to the shapes. I drew the shaps on to some cardboards that came with his garments and hung then to two crossed wooden batons with threads. I used 2 contact points so that the shapes can swivel around with the wind and still keep horizontal.

My son's first toy!
My son! Enjoying his new toy!
The template of the shapes can be drawn or downloaded from below.

Devarghya
My son is born last month. Me and my wife are busy pampering him. My wife is a big fan of TinTin. Even Steven speilberg is making a movie on TinTin (The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn). So she nick named him TinTin. His official name is planned to be Devarghya. Devarghya means "Scented water for greeting God" in hindu mythology.
